Tony Eve FCA, Client Finance Director -

Tony qualified as a chartered accountant in 1981 and after ten years specialising in taxation and business advice within the profession, including a spell as a consultant at Moores Rowland, he set up his own practice to provide business and taxation support to growing businesses and high net worth individuals.

Having grown the practice into a two-partner multi-disciplinary business employing over twenty people, Tony sold the practice in 2003 in order to concentrate on commercial activities.

In 1996 and as part of his practice, Tony advised on the AIM flotation and joined the board of a client, Highams Systems Services Group plc, an IT contractor and recruitment agency. He remained on the board until May 2007 having actively contributed to M&A activity including negotiations on acquisitions, undertaking due diligence and preparing business plans and working capital adequacy reports. Tony had significant input into corporate, financial and taxation strategy and worked closely with the CEO and Chairman.

Following the sale of his practice, Tony has also had significant input into various private companies including: a Bulgarian property/internet company where he assisted in a successful IPO; a motor vehicle bodyshop group which he helped to grow from a single site with a turnover of £750,000 to three sites with an annual turnover of over £5 million; and an IT recruitment company where he completely overhauled the finance function.

Tony’s expertise at FD Solutions is in providing both practical and strategic input into growing businesses. He is happy getting his hands dirty when needed as well as providing a higher-level sounding board for members of clients’ executive team.

Tony joined the board of an AIM-quoted IT business as their part-time finance director in November 2007 and contributes fully to the executive activities of the company. He has also worked with a large regional solicitors’ practice, where he created an automated management accounts reporting package, and a large charity where he produces the monthly financial reports and has been heavily involved in budgetary processes and reports. Tony has also helped on other ad hoc assignments where businesses have needed temporary FD-level input in situations where either the financial function has needed improving or in assisting colleagues with their clients.
