Jim Halliday
FCA, Client Finance Director -
Jim qualified with a small firm and went on to become a manager
with Ernst & Young before spending 14 years in Du Pont

Jim undertook a variety of projects, many in the energy sector.
- At Independent Energy he was co-founder of a new entrant
into the privatised electricity market for which he was
instrumental in obtaining and managing financing through

the systems (Pegasus ‘Opera’) policies and procedures
to enable rapid growth.
- At Aquila Energy he integrated a newly-acquired retail
gas sales operation, setting up a system vital to hedging
its margins.
- At National Grid Transco he managed the reorganisation
of the contract engineering services division, helping it
on its path to independence and profitability.
- At Bywaters, a waste management company, he avoided potential
financial difficulties by completing a sales invoice computerisation
project, establishing an effective credit control function,
and upgrading Microsoft’s ERP system - Great Plains.
- At PVAXX, a biotech business developing new polymers
and other environmentally sensitive but economically viable
materials, he re-engineered the business model from production
through to licensing.
