Imran Hussein

Imran has 27 years of accounting experience and knowledge, gained within retail, national, public sector and international organisations.

After completing an HND in Business, majoring in Finance and Marketing, Imran worked for commercial organisations to gain a sound understanding of financial controls required to give management information for business growth. In many cases these companies had manual systems which he helped to computerise. Companies included a chain of retail outlets and a group of hotels. This experience led to getting roles assisting FDs with year-end work and implementing systems.

After the first ten years in commercial organisations Imran moved into the public sector and joined Barnet Healthcare NHS Trust as systems and financial accountant. Barnet NHS was one of the first NHS organisations to receive ‘Trust’ status. During his time there, all manual finance systems were computerised, implementing a completely new and revolutionary integrated system, bringing together procurements, payroll, management and financial accounting in one bespoke system.

After five years in the public sector Imran returned to commercial accounting, joining an international organisation, MGE UPS Systems (part of Schneider Electric) with a turnover of £35m and managing a team of five, delivering monthly reports to senior managers and head office in France. He also had full responsibility of year-end accounts preparation and auditing.

Since leaving MGE in February 2002, Imran has from time to time provided back-up and support to  many of FD Solutions’ clients and finance directors, managing finance teams, assisting in change-management and implementing new systems.

Imran has been described as a ‘fire fighter’, being parachuted into organisations where rapid changes are taking place or senior finance managers leave at short notice.
